| | When the UK is shivering with winter weather, the Canary Islands are enjoying average temperatures of 20C, making it an ideal time for families with young children to jet off for a splash of sunshine.
And that, paired up with £240 off all Jet2holidays* for a family of four with a myJet2 account, means you can now enjoy even better value on your family break.
'I wouldn't normally book to go on holiday out of season,' explains Pilates teacher and mum of two Victoria Lamm.
'But when it's colder and darker here, somehow a holiday feels like even more of a treat.'
Victoria and her partner Reuben decided to visit the Canary Islands for the first time with their two children, Amari, aged three, and 18-month-old Tao, heading to the sun-kissed shores of Lanzarote.

Travelling with Jet2holidays, the family spent the week at Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa, where they had booked an all-inclusive escape.
'Reuben and I were a bit anxious about the journey because it was our longest flight yet with the kids,' says Victoria. 'But the staff were so nice and super friendly. Knowing we had kids, they were ready to help, even though in the end the flight was actually really smooth.'
And it was all worth it when they stepped off the plane to be greeted by sunshine and the friendly Jet2holidays team, who guided them to the transfer that would whisk them to their beautiful beachside resort.

'It felt like every day there was something new for the children to try,' says Victoria
'The hotel was so lovely and there were so many different facilities for the kids,' says Victoria.
'Looking at the website before we travelled I remember thinking that I hope the kids are going to be entertained enough - and they definitely were.'
It felt like every day there was something new for the children to try, even at their young age.
Victoria says: 'Amari and Tao really enjoyed the soft play, which was great. In the evenings they loved the discos just for the children and one day there was even a foam party, which Amari really liked and I think Reuben enjoyed even more!'
Mornings were generally spent at the kids' pool, and Amari even had a go at the inflatable assault course, while leisurely afternoons were enjoyed at the beach.
'The sand was golden, the sea was fabulous and it was great to see the boys getting more comfortable in the water,' says Victoria.
When it came to dining, the family sampled both the buffets and the à la carte restaurants at the resort and were delighted with the friendly service.
'Sometimes eating out with children can be full-on, especially in a nice place,' explains Victoria. 'But I didn't feel awkward with the kids. When Tao's bottle needed washing the staff were so lovely and helped, everyone was very understanding.'
